Meet Dr. Julia Boven,
The Heart of Leo Vets

Veterinarian, Practice Owner

Dr. Julia Boven brings more than 25 years of experience and a lifelong passion for animals to her independently owned, veterinarian-led practice. She began her career as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), and along the way, she’s held diverse roles across the profession—each one deepening her well-rounded perspective on pet care.

Her special interests include behaviour, the human–animal bond, preventative medicine and chronic disease management. As a Fear Free Elite certified clinician with broad clinical training, Dr. Julia is the ideal partner for keeping your furry family members happy, healthy and as stress-free as possible.

Julia’s dedication extends beyond the clinic. At home, she and her family share their lives with two Bernese Mountain Dogs, two orange tabby cats, a friendly escape-artist hamster, a laid-back bearded dragon and a pair of chatty guinea pigs. When you visit Leo Vets, you might meet her four-legged companions—and even her two children—because for Dr. Julia, community-centric care means inviting you into her world as well.
